- Tom Hanks has been cast in the lead role of the famed symbologist Robert Langdon
- May 19, 2006 is the been sited as the release date for the film.
- The Da Vinci Code will be directed by Ron Howard from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman.
- Filming scheduled to start in May 2005
- Sony paid $6 million for the movie rights
- The people behind 24 tried to get the rights for the third season, but were rejected
- 'Leon' star Jean Reno will play detective Bezu Fache
- French actress Julie Delpy has been linked with the role of cryptologist Sophie Neveu.
